BABY YOU CAN DRIVE MY CAR – AUTOMOTIVE ADVERTISING
Cue featured fast-moving vehicle rounding a tight bend; then a series of sharp city manoeuvres followed by a happy exchange of smiles between driver and passenger and then a pullback shot in which we see a foreign licence plate. We’ve seen that ad script countless times and it wasn’t even made here. Let’s face it television car advertising can drive us round the bend. But when it’s well done, it can also be a mini work of cinematographic art. So how have how local brands done in the past few months?
In the third AdForum of year with Ornico join Jeremy Maggs and his panel of tough-talking critics as they interrogate the latest television commercials from automotive industry. The panel consists of Sizakele Marutlulle – Moonchild, Rob van Rooyen – House of Brave, Deon Wigget – Famous Copy, Mongezi Mtati – Ornico, and Andy Rice.
