The purpose of the Employment Equity Act (EE) is to achieve equity in the workplace by promoting equal opportunity and fair treatment in employment through the elimination of unfair discrimination; and by implementing affirmative action measures to redress the disadvantages in employment experienced by designated groups, to ensure their equitable representation in all occupational categories and levels in the workforce. The EE Act applies to all employers and employees.
The Department of Labour will engage RMI members on Employment Equity (EE) implementation, compliance and reporting. They will address the challenges, RMI members are experiencing with their plans and reports.
RMI members should use this key opportunity to engage, ask questions and to seek clarity on certain issues which they may have relating to EE and transformation.
