Short-term insurer, Mutual & Federal, has won the prestigious SA Motor Body Repair Association (SAMBRA) Insurer of the Year award for the second consecutive year.
The award ceremony took place in Johannesburg during Automechanika SA, and honours top vehicle insurers their contribution to the sustainability of motor body repairers in South Africa.
Hollard and Zurich Insurance were awarded the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
SAMBRA represents a large majority of motor body repairers in the country, and focuses heavily on the development of a sustainable business model for all stakeholders. The Insurer of the Year Survey is one such exercise.
“The SAMBRA Insurer of the Year Survey has been conducted annually since 2011 in an effort to gauge the business relationship between the insurance and motor body repair industry,” said Eddie Martin, SAMBRA’s national director.
The survey is independently managed and audited, and targets SAMBRA members nation-wide to rate insurers on a number of factors including relationship satisfaction, quality of vehicle damage assessment and repairers’ interaction with claims staff, payment speed, customer service, green practices etc.
This survey – and its outcome – has become an important yard-stick against which insurers evaluate themselves and their services to panel shops and ultimately, the consumer.
“In understanding both the motor body repair and vehicle insurance environment, we are able to assist our members and insurers to re-evaluate and streamline their processes and procedures, improve skill levels and regulatory compliance whilst ultimately developing best practice models,” added Martin.
Addressing mutual key performance areas will grow businesses at both ends of the scale and ultimately benefit the consumer.”
Heidi Dias, Head of Claims at Mutual & Federal, recognised the important role that motor body repairers play in helping the company manage their supply chain and cost of claims.
“In addition to helping us grow our business, Mutual & Federal’s partnership with panel shops also contributes to making motor insurance more affordable for the consumer.”
