The RMI has been requested by the Department of Labour to encourage its Members to grant time-off to Employee Representatives and Shop Stewards to enable them to participate in briefing sessions on the new Labour Laws. Should you wish to grant your Employee Representatives and Shop Stewards such time-off, it will with be without payment of wages and strictly dependent on the operational requirements of your business. Please note: there is NO obligation on you to comply with this request.
Attached, please find a letter that was sent to BUSA that outlines the areas and dates for these sessions. Note that the venues are not yet finalised and will be updated in due course and published on the Department’s website.
