In a move that will strengthen one of the RMI’s key strategic objectives – that of influencing policy decision making on labour related issues within the country at the highest level – Aruna Ranchod, Industrial Relations Director at the RMI, has been appointed to serve on the Governing Board of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).
She was elected during a recent election process conducted via Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), following a nominations process. Aruna was also recently appointed as the alternate business representative to serve on the Employment Conditions Commission (ECC). Both appointments are Ministerial appointments, with the term of office starting on 1 July 2011.
