Career guidance:

Secondary school learners, current unemployed persons or employed staff can watch the merSETA automotive careers videos to see what types of jobs are available in the automotive industry – https://youtu.be/n9c726zu184.

A careers portal can be found on the merSETA homepage by following this link – http://www.merseta.org.za/Pages/default.aspx.

Training opportunities should be actively sought in the private sector (such as vehicle dealers and independent workshops) in the proximity of where the learner resides.  It is good to note that TVET colleges with motor mechanic campuses often advertise the opportunity for young learners to train as motor mechanics.
