Diesel Fuel Injection Technician assessment for apprentices

The RMI REMAN Cluster ERA SADFIA ACRA office has engaged NAMB (National Artisan Moderation Body) and the relevant SETAs, to address the critical scarcity of trade testing facilities of the Diesel Fuel Injection Technician in South Africa.
RMI Reman, together with RMI SADFIA National Executive Chairperson Chris Le Roux, National Training Director Louis Van Huyssteen and RMI SADFIA Consultant Dave Stalker, have met with stakeholders on a number of occasions, in realization of this project.
Relevant stakeholders have been engaged since the project identification and Robert Bosch SA is currently taking bookings from 1-4 April 2019, to perform DFI Pre-Assessments (for those apprentices who are, or soon to be, trade-test ready to fine-tune competency levels/shortcomings, ensuring a smooth sail on the actual day of the trade test) over a four-day period, wherein feedback will be provided to the apprentice and business owner.
Further time will be spent to fine-tune the apprentice in areas where he/she is not fully competent and afford the apprentice to be well versed and/or ask questions. This will be billed at R2,000 per day, totalling R8,000 for the four days (VAT Incl.).
RMI SADFIA has been in consultation with Bosch and numerous other industry stakeholders to accredit Bosch with DFI Trade Test Centre status.
The project has progressed to the point where Bosch can now perform pre-assessments, and will soon be able to perform trade tests.
How will your business benefit?

  • Reduced costs for the business owner
    • reduced travel expenses
    • reduced accommodation expenses
  • Fewer days out of the workshop for the apprentice
  • Owner is able to recoup his costs faster
  • Non wastage of testing time if the pre-assessment found that the apprentice needs more on the job training
