Extension of National State of Disaster

President Cyril Ramaphosa extended the National State of Disaster until 15 December 2020. Subsequently, all COVID-19 regulations promulgated under the Disaster Management Act, applicable to Level 1 of the Risk Adjusted Strategy, will remain in effect from 00h01 on 12 November 2020 until at least 15 December 2020, subject to the changes mentioned below.


In addition, the President announced the partial re-opening of South African borders, the resumption of international air travel under certain restrictions as well as the re-opening of all commercial seaports.


The RMI welcomes the easing of these regulations which will have a positive effect on the economy. We will keep you informed on the latest developments as we have been doing during this National State of Disaster.
