South African Petroleum Retailers Association (SAPRA) and the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) salutes Mr. Seelan Naidoo on Chairmanship Appointment at SAPIA
The South African Petroleum Retailers Association (SAPRA) and the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) congratulated Mr. Seelan Naidoo on his recent appointment as the Chairperson of the Board of Governors at the South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA). Mr. Naidoo will be at the helm of SAPIA from January 2024 to December 2025, succeeding Mr. Hloniphizwe Mtolo, whose commendable two-year tenure concluded in December 2023.
Mr. Naidoo is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Engen Petroleum Limited, which has business operations in South Africa as well as six other Sub-Saharan and Indian Ocean markets. His expertise spans various facets, including refining, sales and marketing, and distribution. Naidoo previously served as the General Manager for Engen’s Retail business and as the Regional Manager for East Africa, managing diverse markets with varying regulatory frameworks.
The collaboration between the RMI, SAPRA and SAPIA has been integral to the success of the petroleum retail sector, and SAPRA eagerly anticipates the continuation and enhancement of this partnership under Mr. Naidoo’s leadership. His appointment as the Chairperson of SAPIA is a testament to his leadership acumen and unwavering commitment to the industry.
In his new role, Mr. Naidoo will lead SAPIA in addressing key priorities, including the transition to cleaner fuels, ensuring fuel security of supply, and championing Health, Safety, and Environment standards across the industry.
