On 12 July 2022, the parties to the Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO) had a council dispute meeting, after NUMSA declared a formal dispute earlier in July.
Despite the RMI’s request that the dispute should be resolved through bilateral engagements between the parties as earlier suggested by NUMSA, they elected that the matter be referred for mediation, which is now set for 2 and 3 August 2022.
Further engagement steps will naturally follow once the mediation process commences and we will as always keep our members informed as the matter progresses.
